Estilo
Macabebe
The purpose of this DVD is to illustrate Estilo Macabebe. Macabebe is a
name of a town in the province of Pampange. Many men in this area have
chosen a trade peddling clothing materials to families in remote barrios.
The men from Macabebe introduced an art of self-defense using two long
sticks. Commonly when traveling, one stick supports the bundle of clothing
materials while carried on the shoulder and the other to ward of hostile
dogs, other animals, or thieves that may take one's life in order to steal
the goods. The Macabebe natives were fierce warriors that were employed
by others for protection. They also had a bare hand system. Featuring the
late Grand Master Emeretius Leo Giron and Grand Master Tony Somera.
